Communion in the Community

A Holy Communion service under the auspices of St Hildeburgh's is to be held at a Hoylake restaurant.
The service, conducted by our Vicar, Rev’d Paul, will take place at the Monte Carlo restaurant in Market Street on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 11am.
Paul, who has emphasised the importance of taking the church into the community since he became Vicar eight months ago, arranged the service with the restaurant manager after eating there with Gillian on ‘bargain menu’ evenings.
Paul said: “I hope that many of our congregation will be able to get to the service – it will probably be a new experience for all of us.”
And he guarantees there will be no service charge!

GLIMPSES OF GOD …OUR LENTEN COURSE

‘Glimpses of God’ is the title of the latest York Course, which we at St Hildeburgh's will be following on five consecutive Thursdays, starting on February 21, in the Church Centre meeting room at 10.30am-12noon.
The course will be based on a CD discussion between Bishop of Chelmsford Stephen Cottrell; Baroness Shirley Williams, Roman Catholic politician and aca-demic; Professor David Wilkinson, a Methodist minister and holder of PhDs in the contrasting disciplines of astrophysics and theology.
More details available from Peter Surridge, who will lead the course, please contact him as soon as possible if you would like to take part. He needs numbers to order the literature – and it’s only 3½ weeks away! For more information, speak to Peter (0151-632-5507).
