CHRISTMAS
TREE
FESTIVAL
2014
At St Hideburgh’s Church we are busy planning
the fifth
annual Christmas Tree Festival.
We aim to create a fun community event for Hoylake
to start
the Christmas season.
We invite local groups and charities free of charge to
join in. For businesses there is a very small charge as it is excellent
advertising for you. Last year we had 40
trees and over 700 visitors enjoyed the event over the weekend. We wondered if
you would like to join us? It is a great way to show local people who you are
and what you do in a fun and imaginative way!
The overall plan will
be similar to last year with trees to vote for, a Christmas Market, refreshments
,entertainment and children’s activities including of course Santa.
Arrangements for any who wish to join us
Trees should be about 4-6 feet and please bring a small table to put it
on.
Trees should be put up on Thursday 4th December between 3.30- 7.30pm An
electrician will be present 4.30-6.30pm. Electric lights must be tested by him. Battery ones of course not. For purposes of planning the
lay out it is essential that we know
whether your plan would be electric or battery lights
Decorate
the tree as you wish.
Please
label your tree with your group name and put a
small box at the base for votes. Visitors will have three tokens to vote for trees
in the categories of 'Most Elegant' 'Most original' and 'Most Fun' and of course there will be
prizes for the winners
Trees should be
removed on Monday 8th December 4-6pm
.
Please contact SUE WELLS with any further queries and to let us know if you would like to take part. We really
would be delighted for you to join us.
