Spnosor our Flower Festival in June 2013

Preparations for our Flower Festival from June 21-23 are continuing apace. The purpose is to create a beautiful and memorable occasion which will attract more people to St Hildeburgh's and will also raise money for church funds.

        To make the most of the festival’s financial potential we are inviting selected local firms and organisations to sponsor one of the many exhibits for amounts ranging from less than £50 to £100. In return, the sponsor will be named on the exhibit and in the festival programme.

Did you know we have a Luncheon Club in our church centre (Stanley Road, Hoylake) for senior citizens that meets on the last Friday of every month to which all local senior citizens are welcome?

Lent Box (2013)

What's in the box?

Our children's group 'Voyagers' (which meets at 10.00am every Sunday) have made a 'Lent Box'. Members of our church family have been encouraged to place in it items that they are giving up for Lent.

New Flower Arranging Course

Let's do the Continental…

…is the title of Brenda Gande’s latest expert flower course for 2013. Come and learn some flower-arranging techniques that will add warmth and colour to your home, in six sessions over seven weeks.

     The course will be held in the Church Centre on Tuesdays at 7.40pm on March 19 and 26, and April 9, 16, 23 and 30 (missing Easter Tuesday, April 2). The cost is £15.

Lent Lunches 2013

Lent lunches organized by St Hildeburgh’s, St John’s and St Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church will be held at Hoylake Presbyterian Church in Alderley Road, on Wednesdays, February 20 and 27 and March 6 at 12.30pm. Other members of Churches Together will be welcome to join in.

Parade Service 10 February 2013

It was great to have a packed church for our Parade Service today, Sunday 10 February 2013. Various uniformed local organizations were represented including the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, air cadets, naval cadets and the Brownies. The sermon was preached by our Curate, Rev'd Dr John Harrison during which he praised the committment of our local organizations to our community and public life.

Shrove Tuesday Coffee Morning with pancakes, bring-and-buy and raffle in the Church Centre (behind St. Hildeburgh's Parish Church, Stanley Road), 10.30am-12noon. Tuesday 12 February 2013 ..... ALL WELCOME!!!!

 

Communion at Monte Carlo!

It was great to have so many people with us at the Monte Carlo Restaurant on Market Street, Hoylake for a special service of Holy Communion, Thursday 7 February 2013. We met in an upstairs room and over thirty people attended the service. Many thanks to all who came and in particular to the kind owners of Monte Carlo.

Thanksgiving Day 2013

It was great to welcome so many people to church on Sunday 3 February 2013 for our special and annual Thanksgiving Service. This was followed by a lunch in our church centre of good old scouse. There followed entertainment provided by members of the congregation. Thanks to all who helped organize the day and all who came and enjoyed!
